Welcome back to the WBSC Top-10 Baseball Plays of the Year, a review of the best 10 plays in the WBSC Baseball World Cups in 2023. The No. 8 in the countdown is a magic play from Puerto Rico's left-handed pitcher Jan Reyes, at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup

It's 8 September and world No. 1 Japan squared off against No. 13 Puerto Rico in Game 38 of the World Cup. Japan had a 2-1 record in the Super Round, while Puerto Rico jumped on the field with a 1-1 mark in the standings.

In the bottom of the fifth of an 8-0 game for Japan, with a runner on third, Syuya Yamada hit a comebacker to the mound, and Reyes made a no-look, behind-the-back catch to retire the second out of the inning on a rundown between third base and home plate with an amazing play.

Japan keep pressing and scored two runs in the inning to end the game with a 10-0 victory.
