The WBSC Executive Board approved updates to the Disciplinary By-Laws and WBSC Safeguarding from Harassment and Abuse Rules during its meeting on 25 November.

The updated World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Disciplinary By-Laws and Safeguarding from Harassment and Abuse Rules are online after the WBSC Executive Board approved updated versions during its meeting on 25 November.

The Disciplinary By-Laws were first approved in 2017 and have since undergone amendments in 2022 and 2023.

The major change in the latest update includes the possibility of dismissing an Associated member without Congress ratification, implementing provisional measures, clarifying the burden of proof, and specifying the decision application date.

Additionally, several other amendments have been made throughout the Disciplinary By-Laws to ensure consistency.

Meanwhile, the WBSC Safeguarding from Harassment and Abuse Rules were first approved in 2018 with a subsequent update on 12 June 2023.

The latest amendment ensures that the final decision is taken by the Executive Board and not the panel. The appeal procedure has also been amended to be clearer and to align with the Disciplinary By-Laws.
