USA Baseball has revealed plans for a busy summer.

The U-18 National Team general manager, Ashley Bratcher, announced a 40-man roster for the National Team Trials, selected from the 2021 Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) League.

A select number of athletes from the upcoming USA Baseball U-16U/U-17 National Team Development Program (NTDP) will compete for a spot on the final U-18 National Team roster.

"We are thrilled to have this talented group of athletes as part of the 2021 U-18 National Team Trials," commented Bratcher. "The competition and depth at this summer’s PDP League were unmatched, and it made for some incredibly difficult decisions for our coaches and staff, but we are confident in the ability of each of these players to represent the US at the highest level. We are excited to get back on-field and get the process of naming our final team started."

The final U-18 roster will be announced on 31 August.

The U-18 United States will compete against Canada in a seven-game friendship series from 3 to 9 September.

USA Baseball also picked 37 athletes for the U-15 National Team Trials. The players were selected based on their participation and performance at USA Baseball sanctioned events, including the U-14 and U-15 National Team Championships. They will compete for a spot on a 20-man roster.

"We are honored to have this incredible group of athletes competing for a chance to play for the US National Team," said Charles Lane, USA Baseball Director of Baseball Operations. "After extensive evaluations and research, our staff is thrilled with the high level of talent and character all of these players bring to the field."
