USA Softball announces Women’s National Team staff for Canada Cup, Japan All-Star Series

The US Women's National Softball Team are scheduled to compete in the Canada Cup (June) and Japan All-Star Series (August) this year.

USA Softball has announced the assistant coaches selected to join Head Coach Heather Tarr in leading the 2022 US Women’s Softball National Team at the Canada Cup and Japan All-Star Series this summer. Back in February, USA Softball named the rosters for these two international competitions.

Cindy Ball-Malone will assist Tarr in both events alongside Brian Kolze and Jimmy Kolaitis for the Canada Cup slated for 20-26 June in Surrey, BC, Canada. Chris Malveaux and Mike Steuerwald will join Ball-Malone and Tarr at the helm for the Japan All-Star Series to be held 1-9 August in Fukushima and Yokohama, Japan.

“The coaching staffs selected to lead our Women’s National Team this summer include highly experienced and knowledgeable coaches that I am so excited to work alongside,” said head coach Tarr. “They each garner exceptional qualifications that I trust will be an asset to our athletes as we continue to work toward successful events in Canada and Japan.”

Previously named an assistant coach for The World Games 2022, Ball-Malone joins the WNT coaching staff after leading USA to a gold medal finish at the latest U-18 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup in Lima, Peru.

The top-ranked softball nation in the world will compete in The World Games from 9-13 July in Birmingham, Alabama, where the winner will be officially declared world champion.
