USA beat Brazil to clinch top spot in Group A

Aidan Miller rocketed his second home run of the tournament in the first inning and led USA’s offensive night.

USA defeated Brazil, 10-0 in six innings, and clinched their fourth consecutive win in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup to secure first place in Group A. Aidan Miller rocketed his second home run of the tournament in the first inning and led USA’s offensive night.

Jake Brown pitched four no-hit innings for USA, striking out seven opponents. Erick Makita was the only hitter to reach base against the US starter, thanks to a throwing error by shortstop Colt Emerson. Adam Hachman relieved for two innings and threw six strikeouts, while allowing one hit.

Brazil’s only hit was an infield single by Enzo Ercole in the top of the fifth inning.

With Tuesday's win, USA clinched the top spot in Group A and will start the Super Round on Thursday with a perfect 2-0 record. On Wednesday, they will complete their game against South Africa to close the Opening Round. Brazil finished the Opening Round with a 2-3 record.
