The Asian team tied the game in the top of the seventh, and won it in the eighth.

Chinese Taipei clinched today their third win to close their Super Round with a 5-4 extra inning victory over Panama and play in the bronze medal game of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico. The Asian team tied the game in the top of the seventh and won it in the eighth.

Panama was winning 3-2 in the top of the seventh, but a clutch run-scoring single by Kuan-Yu Ku with two outs tied the contest and sent it to extras.

In the eighth, Chinese Taipei scored the two tie-break-rule runners with an RBI single by Ting-Hsuan Ku and a sacrifice fly by Hsing-Kai Wang to grab a two-run lead. Panama responded with one on a sac fly, but left the potential tying run stranded on second.

Chinese Taipei will play the Bronze Medal Game on Sunday.

Panama, which won the silver medal in the last edition, finishes in sixth place. It was the fourth consecutive Super Round appearance for Panama in the U-15 Baseball World Cup.
