Venezuela to host Americas Qualifier to group stage of Women's Baseball World Cup

World No. 5 Venezuela will host the Americas Qualifier in La Guaira from 12 to 21 August. The top four finishers will advance to the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup group stage, scheduled for 2023.

The Venezuelan women's baseball National Team will open camp on 28 July.

Manager Carlos Torres, who led Lara to the championship of the Venezuelan Women's Baseball League, is inviting 28 of the best women's baseball players in the country to camp. The invitees include Venezuelan League stars Yakary Molina, the league's MVP, Dayerlin Rivas and Francelis Garcia, the top pitcher.

Sor Brito, Esquia Rengel, Maigleth Torres, Milangela Cortes and Migreili Angulo are some players who have represented Venezuela internationally.

Judelys Garcia, Ruth Tovar, Marbel Diaz, Mariana Natera and Srishna Ariciniega are among the top prospects in the league.

The final roster will include 20 players.

Four National Teams from Asia, one from Europe, one from Oceania and two Wild Cards will also compete in the group stage. The 12 teams will split into two groups, and the top two finishers of each group will advance, together with two wild cards, to the final stage, scheduled for 2024.
