Veteran manager José Reyes to lead Mexico at XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup

'El Che', who managed his country to a historic U-23 Baseball World Cup title in 2018, announced his U‐18 20-strong roster.

Mexico announced their 20-strong roster for the XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, which includes 10 pitchers, two catchers, five infielders and three outfielders.

Infielder Ichiro Cano, outfielder Antonio Macias and pitcher Juan Pablo Tirado participated in last year's WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.

The trio was also part of the Mexican team that earned bronze at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2017. Tirado, the starting centre fielder at the time, led the tournament with five home runs and posted a .654 batting average.

Manager José 'El Che' Reyes is also returning from the 2022 sixth-place team. He led Mexico to a historic U-23 world title in 2018 and managed the U-18 and U-23 National Teams in 2022.

His coaching staff includes Carlos Reyes, Emanuel Rangel, Sergio Attwell and Hernando Arredondo.

Mexico in Group A with world No. 4 Korea, No. 5 Chinese Taipei, No. 9 Australia and No. 13 Puerto Rico.
