IWAKI, Japan – With world. No. 3 Chinese Taipei already leading 3-0 in the top of the third inning and threatening to put the game away early, the U-15 National Team of Venezuela completed the first triple-play at the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2016 in Iwaki.

World No. 6 Venezuela went on to defeat Chinese Taipei, 10-8, in an exciting Opening Round battle that saw the lead change five times.

In 2012, Venezuela became baseball’s first-ever world champions in the U-15 category, winning the inaugural U-15 Baseball World Cup in Chihuahua, Mexico.
