Czechia on Friday recorded their second win in the Placement Round, behind a combined no-hit performance by Vit Stanek and Jan Novak. The Europeans sit atop of the Placement Round for 10th-13th place with a 2-0 mark.
The game was a pitching duel until the bottom of the sixth, when Czechia scored five runs to secure the game.
Guam’s Gerson Hoebing pitched five innings giving up two hits and one run. Peter Concepción climbed the mound in the sixth and allowed five runs on six hits.
Stanek struck out six in 6.1 innings with five walks.
