WBSC and Chinese Taipei Softball Association empower India with softball equipment support

The softball helmets were handed over before the game of India and the Czech Republic at the II WBSC U-12 Softball World Cup in Jin-Long Stadium in Taichung City, Taiwan.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), with the support of the Chinese Taipei Softball Association, have donated softball helmets to the Indian team competing in the II WBSC U-12 Softball World Cup.

The helmets, specially-made for use by the Indian youth softball programme, were presented to the Indian squad by WBSC Secretary General Beng Choo Low.

“The WBSC is grateful for this generous support by the Chinese Taipei Softball Association to provide equipment to their Asian neighbours that truly encapsulates and fosters real softball camaraderie,” WBSC secretary general Beng Choo Low said.

“The power of sport is important for these young athletes, and we are happy to help and ensure that they are given the opportunity to further develop their programme and be able to continue training and playing the sport that we all love.”

India started its U-10 and U-12 softball youth programmes five years ago. The interest in softball has grown since and the increased participation, that gathered 800 kids in their national championships, is a testament to a great future of Indian softball.
