WBSC Asia and Softball Asia have revealed that Malaysia will host the first Baseball5 Asia Cup, which will be held from 17-19 August in Kuala Lumpur. Participation is open to all member nations and territories is the region.
The Asia Cup will qualify the top three finishers into the inaugural WBSC Baseball5 World Cup, to be staged in the fall months in Mexico.
Twelve countries will participate in the first-ever WBSC Baseball5 World Cup. The host nation will automatically qualify for the event, joining France and Lithuania (Europe), who were first to qualify.
The inaugural Baseball5 African Championship is scheduled from 23 to 26 May and will qualify the top two finishers.
Teams from the Americas (3) and Oceania (1) are to be determined at a later stage.
