WBSC Europe has announced its 2022 international baseball calendar, including three qualifiers to WBSC Baseball World Cups.
Vienna, Austria, will host the U-12 European Baseball Championship from 5 to 10 July. The eight participants will split into two groups. The defending champions Italy, Netherlands, Hungary and Belgium will compete in group A. Group B features the Czech Republic, Germany, France and Austria.
The winner and the runner-up in Vienna will advance to the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2023. The Czech Republic and Italy will represent Europe at this year's VI WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup, scheduled from 29 July to 7 August in Tainan, Taiwan.
The Czech Republic will host the U-18 European Championship from 14 to 21 August. Ten of the 12 participants have already qualified. Defending champion Netherlands, Spain, France, Austria and Lithuania, will compete in group A. Group B includes Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Israel, Ireland. The other two participants will have to qualify through the tournaments scheduled from 4 to 10 July in Sweden (the winner will play in group A) and Slovakia (the winner will join group B.
The U-18 European champion and the runner-up will qualify for the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2023. Italy and the Netherlands will represent Europe in the XXX WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, scheduled from 9 to 18 September 2022 in Bradenton and Sarasota, Florida, USA.
France will host the Women's European Baseball Championship from 1 to 6 August in Montpellier. The other participants are Poland, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Great Britain.
The WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup will inaugurate a new format. The European Championship serves as a qualifier to the group stage, scheduled for 2023. The finals of the IX Women's World Cup are scheduled for 2024.
