WBSC publishes Baseball5 Rulebook in seventh language, Arabic

The launch of the urban, five-on-five discipline has provided a boost to baseball and softball development, particularly in Africa and Europe.

The WBSC has published the Baseball5 Rulebook in Arabic as baseball and softball look to expand their popularity and practice around the world.

The WBSC Baseball5 Rulebook is now available in seven languages: English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic.

"The rulebook in Arabic comes as more and more countries are playing the game and have set their sights on Baseball5 at the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 in Senegal, Africa, where the five-on-five discipline will makes its Olympic debut," WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari said.

The Baseball5 rulebook consists of four different sections. Section three (game rules) represents the bulk. The three remaining sections are about the field, game preliminaries, and the end of the game, which includes the tie-break rules.

The version in Arabic represents the fifth translation of the original Rulebook in English.
