The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) released today the 2022-2025 Official Rules of Slow Pitch Softball, the updated set of rules that will govern the game for the upcoming four years. The new playing rules become effective immediately.

This new version updates the 2018-2021 rulebook, which was the first-ever dedicated rulebook for the slow pitch discipline.
According to the new rules, a pitcher that repeatedly violates a pitching rule will not only be removed from the pitching position for the remainder of the game, but will also be declared an illegal pitcher.
A penalty for placing an incorrect runner on second base in a tiebreaker inning has also been added. A player may also wear one or two warming sleeves (compression sleeves) provided that each is the same solid colour as the team uniform colour and that the colour matches all other undershirts worn by any player on that team.
For female players, caps, visors and headbands are optional and players are free to choose which of these they wish to wear, providing that all players wear the same colour.
