WBSC Americas revealed the schedule of the XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier. The tournament opens on Friday, 4 November, at Estadio Arturo C. Nahl in La Paz, in the Mexican State of Baja California Sur, at 2 pm local time with Panama-Nicaragua.
World No. 13 Panama and No. 15 Nicaragua will compete in Group A and face the hosts and No. 4 Mexico and No. 9 Cuba.
Nicaragua's manager Stanley Loàsiga lost three of his best pitchers Enniel Cortez, Henry Moreno and Kinder Conly but is still confident his team can compete for a spot in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2023.
Cuba will take on Mexico at 7 pm local time in La Paz. Manager Severo Crespo announced left-hander Miguel Neira as his starter.
Group B includes world No. 5 USA, No. 6 Venezuela, No. 12 Canada, No. 16 Puerto Rico and No. 44 Peru.
USA will play Peru at 4 pm local time at Estadio Leonardo Gastelum in Cabo San Lucas.
Puerto Rico will face Canada at 4 pm local time at Estadio Ostioneros de la Playa in San Jose del Cabo.
The top four finishers will qualify for the XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, scheduled for 2023.
