WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup: Ghana to host Africa qualifier in May

The tournament is scheduled from 14 to 23 May on the Cape Coast. France and Turkey are the only National Teams so far qualified for the inaugural Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

WBSC Africa announced that Ghana has earned the hosting rights of the Africa Qualifier for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup. Ghana's bid surpassed others from Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The qualifier is scheduled from 14 to 23 May on the Cape Coast. The participating countries and the format of the tournament will be revealed at a later stage.

The WBSC has yet to award hosting rights for the Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

The tournament's second edition in 2025 will serve as a qualifier for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal 2026.

The Youth Baseball5 World Cup is a mixed-gender event for the 15-18 age bracket.

World No. 3 France and No. 20 Turkey, the winner and runner-up of the inaugural U-17 European Championship, were the first countries to qualify.
