Simone Wearne has officially been selected for the list of Australia’s Top 100 Sportswomen of all time.

Wearne was selected from a group of fabulous sportswomen past and present and was honoured at the annual Sports Women’s Ball on 27th February 2013.

Wearne is an eleven time Australian representative and Baseball Australia’s only female in the Hall of Fame.

In addition to being the only female, Wearne (31) is also the youngest member to ever be inducted into Baseball Australia’s HOF.

As a player Wearne is Australia’s most decorated female baseballer at the domestic and international levels. She was joint tournament MVP at the Women’s World Series in 2002 and the ABF Female Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009.

Since retiring from elite baseball in 2008, Wearne continues to play Division 1 in the Victorian Baseball Association and was recently appointed Head Coach of the Australian U18 Women’s team.
