West Asia Baseball Cup rescheduled for September

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, host Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine and Sri Lanka, have expressed their intention to play in the event.

The Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) has postponed the 15th West Asia Baseball Cup to late september. The competition was originally scheduled for July in Karaj, Iran. The exact dates will be announced at a later stage.

The decision was take after the participating national teams had expressed concern about the status of the COVID-19 pandemic in the region.

The BFA has so far received participating intentions from seven countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, host Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan in the final to win the 14th West Asia Baseball Cup in 2019.
