World No. 1 France to host 2024 Youth Baseball5 European Championship

The French Baseball Softball Federation will host the event, which will be a qualifier for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025, at the Clermont Auvergne Métropole-Artenium sports complex. "I have great hopes for this discipline's international and Olympic future," commented president Thierry Raphet.

World No. 1 France will host the 2024 Youth Baseball5 European Championship at the Clermont Auvergne Métropole-Artenium sports complex.

The WBSC Europe Executive Board chose the three-field and 500-seat facility for the second edition of the event.

"We are delighted to welcome, with the support of the Arvernes club and its territorial partners, all the European nations that will participate," commented French Federation President Thierry Raphet. "I have great hopes for this discipline's international and Olympic future. I wish all the teams good luck."

The European Championship will qualify two teams for the second Youth Baseball5 World Cup in 2025, the door to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics.

France finished second behind Cuba at the inaugural WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup in Türkiye in October with the hosts finishing fourth.

"The next WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup in 2025 will be a qualifier for the Youth Olympic Games, and judging by the popularity of Baseball5 around the world, and especially in Africa, we expect it to be a massive hit with both fans and athletes"
