World No. 7 New Zealand announce roster for XIV WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup

"We are really proud of the commitment all the players have made throughout this journey," commented head coach Jarrad Martin.

World No. 7 New Zealand announced their 16-man roster for the XIV WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup.

"Selection has been a difficult task," said head coach Jarrad Martin, "We are really proud of the commitment all the players have made throughout this journey."

New Zealand won the U-18 Men's Softball World Cup 1985 and 1989. They also earned four silver (1993, 1997, 2014 and 2016) and one bronze (2018) medals.

The XIV WBSC U-18 Men's Softball World Cup is scheduled from 11 to 19 November in Mexico. Four National Teams have already qualified:

  • Africa: No. 12 South Africa
  • Americas (4)
  • Asia (2)
  • Europe (2)
  • Oceania: No. 4 Australia, No. 7 New Zealand
  • Wild Card/Host: No. 10 Mexico

Initially planned for 2022, the tournament was moved to 2023 to better accommodate the international calendar changes. As a result, the eligibility to participate in the U-18 Men's Softball World Cup 2023 has been extended to players who turn 19 years old in 2023.

Japan is the defending World Champion. They beat Australia in the final of the XIII edition in March 2020.
