Youth Baseball5 World Champions named Team of the Year by Cuban Baseball Federation

Cuba, the defending Baseball5 World Champions, won the inaugural Youth Baseball5 World Cup in October.

The Cuban Baseball Federation honoured the World Champion Youth Baseball5 National Team as their Team of the Year.

Cuban players had extremely successful individual performances claiming the Outstanding Male, Female and Coach awards.

In other events throughout the year, Cuba hosted an exhibition series against Jamaica. It was the first time the reigning Baseball5 World Champions took the field together after their triumph in Mexico. The reigning Baseball5 World Champions participated in Havana's first International Sports Fair in August.

Players Briandy Molina, the inaugural WBSC Baseball5 World Cup MVP, Orlando Amador, manager Pablo Terry, and Eros Bernal, the Baseball5 technical director in Cuba, visited the stands during the fair.

Baseball5 was also featured at Havana's 10th Sports and Physical Education International Convention (AFIDE) while Terry participated in the International Symposium on Science Applied to Baseball.
