The Serbian Baseball Federation has celebrated the renovation of a baseball field in Belgrade, a project which was supported by the WBSC Development Commission.

The project, which began on 30 June and was completed on 20 September, saw the Serbian Baseball Federation build a batting cage and a water system to improve field conditions, aiming to comply with the standards to host international tournaments.

The project was led by the Serbian Baseball Federation President Milan Zonic, who was re-elected in March for the 2022-2026 term. Zonic, who prior to becoming Serbia President in 2018 was the federation's Executive Director, was a former catcher for the national team having started playing in Serbia in 1989.

Currently, Serbia is No. 51 in the WBSC Baseball World Rankings.
