The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced today the participating teams and game schedule of the II U-12 Mixed Softball World Cup, to be staged from 7-11 December in in Taichung, Taiwan. Five teams will compete in the second edition of the WBSC U-12 Mixed Softball World Cup: Czech Republic, Hong Kong China, India, Singapore and host Chinese Taipei.
The five teams, up from four which participated in the inaugural edition in 2019, will compete in a three-day Opening Round. Singapore will take on India on Game 1 of the competition on Wednesday 7 December at 10 a.m. local time. Hong King China and Czech Republic will face each other at noon on Game 2, right before the Opening Ceremony, scheduled for 2 p.m. To close Day 1 of the World Cup, the defending world champions and hosts Chinese Taipei will make their debut against Singapore at 3 p.m.
The playoffs will begin on Saturday 10 December with a quarterfinal game between the fourth and fifth qualified teams in the Opening Round. The winner of this match will play the semifinal against the top seeded in the Opening Round, while second and third place finishers will face off in the second semifinal.
The World Championship Final first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m on Sunday 11 December. The Bronze Medal Game will be played at 11 a.m.
The I WBSC U-12 Mixed Softball World Cup 2019 was the first-ever WBSC mixed event, being one of the most progressive events on the international youth sports calendar.
Czech Republic, Indonesia, Peru and host Chinese Taipei featured in the tournament at Tainan City's Gueiren Baseball Stadium. Chinese Taipei won the tournament, defeating Peru, 3-2, in the final.
