WBSC Academy launches Level 1 baseball and softball coaching courses

The two courses follow the grassroots introduction seminar and represent a step forward in the coaching certification process.

The WBSC Coach Commission has announced that the level one baseball and softball coaching courses will be available at the WBSC Academy starting Friday, 18 June.

Coaches need to apply through their respective National Federations. Participation in the course requires registration through the MyWBSC paywall.

The courses consist of six video lessons and represent the first step along the WBSC Coach Licensing Programme path.

Level 1 courses are specifically tailored for U-12 baseball and U-15 softball coaches.

After attending the six lessons, coaches will have to go through a 30-question exam. After the positive completion of the test, which requires 24 exact answers, coaches will be assigned to a WBSC Instructor who will complete the evaluation process and potentially award the Level 1 license.

Level one is the first step of the four-level Licensing Programme that the Coaching Commission introduced at the WBSC Congress 2019 in Osaka, Japan.

The WBSC plans on revealing details about the Level 2, 3 and 4 coaching courses shortly.

The grassroots level course is open and still available for free on the WBSC Academy OPEN AREA.
