WBSC Baseball5 Youth World Cup 2023: Baseball5 U-17 European Championship to qualify two teams

Out of the 14 National Teams participating, the senior sides of France and Lithuania finished ninth and 11th respectively in last week's Baseball5 World Cup in Mexico City. WBSC Europe is streaming all games of the U-17 Baseball5 European Championship through its YouTube channel.

Fourteen National Teams are participating in the inaugural U-17 Baseball5 European Championship at the Sofia Sports Hall, Bulgaria. The tournament will run through Saturday, 19 November. The top two finishers will qualify for the first WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup, scheduled for 2023.

The hosts Bulgaria, Belgium, Czechia, France, Latvia, Moldova and Türkiye play in Group A. Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands and Romania compete in Group B.

France and Lithuania finished ninth and 11th respectively in last week's open Baseball5 World Cup in Mexico City after winning the senior European Championship in 2020.

The top four finishers in each group will advance to the quarterfinals at the end of group play. The winners will play in the semifinals at 5pm local time (CET + 1) on Friday, 18 November. The winners will compete for the title and qualify for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

The European Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, 19 November, at 2pm local time.
