15U BWC: Aruba crushes Germany

Aruba had a perfect start into the premier IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. They crushed Germany 18-6 in seven innings. They scored in six of the seven frames, highlighted by a seven-run rally in the fifth. Germany’s defense helped, committing a whopping nine errors.

The team from the Antilles took a quick 4-1 lead after two innings and built it up with seven runs in the fifth, just after Germany had made it a two-run game. Joward Croes and Dijendrick Croes scored three runs apiece for Aruba. Rocky Donker and Ross Ismail combined for six RBI. Lukas Stutz drove in two for the Europeans. Pascal Amon scored twice.

On the mound Ross Ismail also left a good impression, striking out nine in six innings. He issued five hits, four runs (1 ER) and a walk for the win. Germany’s Julius Reitemeier was charged with the loss, surrendering two hits, four runs (2 ER) and five base on balls in two innings.
