Germany, which lost 6-18 on Thursday, showed much improvement in their second game at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. They took a 1-0 lead in the third, when Viktor Voll scored on an error. Pascal Amon extended the gap to two runs with a RBI double in the sixth. However the sixth also doomed the Europeans.

Five runs on six hits turned the game around in the bottom half of the frame, as Nicaragua took a 5-2 lead. Alvaro Rubi and Julio Escobar highlighted the big rally with back-to-back triples to plate three runs. But Germany wasn’t done. In the ninth they were able to load the bases with one out and put two runs on the board to cut the deficit to 4-5. However a strikeout of Sean Cowan and a fly out of Oskar Matzpreiksch ended the comeback try.
