The all-European clash of the second round of the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship between Germany and Italy ended with a clean victory of the latter with a score of 16-6, but the game was in balance until the very last innings.
Italy went on the scoreboard in the first and score twice in the third before the Germans’ reaction that made them score once in the third and in the fourth.
Then, after a couple of scoreless innings, Germany took the lead scoring three times with only one hit, taking advantage of the Italian mound’s inaccuracy.
The pitching became very soon the point of weakness for Germany, too, when Italy t5ook the game in its hands, scoring 8 runs in the eighth and 5 in the ninth.
