Venezuela shut out Brazil 10-0 in seven innings on Saturday morning in Chihuahua to keep their hopes alive to reach the Gold Medal Game. Luis Arraez was the big star of the game, throwing seven scoreless innings of five-hit ball. He struck out seven batters and allowed just one extra base hit.

At the plate Venezuela put runs on the board in six of the seven innings, winning thanks to ten-run rule in the seventh. Angel Manzanarez went 3-for-3 with three runs scored to initiate the offense out of the nine-spot. Jose Herrera and Greifer Andrade drove in two runs apiece.

Victor Yasunaga was charged with the loss. The Brazilian starter issued four hits, four runs (2 ER) and four walks in three innings.
