2021 U-23 European Baseball Championship to be held in Italy

Former National Team second baseman Alberto D'Auria will manage the U-23 'Azzurri'. Francesco Aluffi named U-18 National Team skipper

The Italian Baseball Softball Federation (FIBS, Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball) won the hosting rights to the U-23 European Baseball Championship. The tournament is scheduled from 24 to 28 August 2021 in Verona and San Martino Buonalbergo, in the north-eastern Veneto Region.

FIBS named Alberto D'Auria as the manager of their U-23 National Team. D'Auria represented Italy internationally over 100 times as a player and served as the third-base coach of the Italian National Team that won the 2010 and 2012 European Championships and qualified to the second round of the World Baseball Classic 2013.

Francesco Aluffli is taking over from John Cortese as the manager of Italy's U-18 National Team. Cortese will remain on the staff as the bench coach.

FIBS also confirmed Roberto De Franceschi as the manager of the U-15 National Team and Stefano Burato as the manager of the U-12 National Team.
