The Central League team is the first champion of the Women’s Softball Cup. They defeated host team Hauts-Bassins, 12-4, in a winner-takes-all final on Saturday, 25 September. The event was hosted by Burkina Faso Baseball and Softball Federation (FBBS).
The teams, made of the best of their regional clubs, played the final in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso's second-largest city.
Sita Traore of the Hauts-Bassins team was named best athlete of the competition, while Central League’s Rama Sinare was the best hitter.
The FBBS took advantage of the ceremony to donate equipment to the Hauts-Bassins league.
