Angel Porras, former Colombian National Softball Team pitcher, passes away in Cartagena

Porras played for Colombia in the Central American and Caribbean Games 1978 in Medellin, being the top Colombian pitcher in the event.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) mourns the loss of Angel Porras, former national team pitcher and coach. He passed away on Thursday, 5 November, at his home in Los Alpes neighbourhood in Cartagena. He was 78.

Porras, born in 1942, played for Colombia in the Central American and Caribbean Games 1978 in Medellin, being the top Colombian pitcher in the event. Colombia finished in fourth place in the regional multi-sports competition, while Porras recorded 3 wins and 1 loss with a minuscule 0.91 ERA.

Porras was also a renowned basketball player in his country.
