Asia Cup Baseball5, qualifiers for WBSC World Cup, postponed to a later date

“Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA), Softball Asia (SA) and the WBSC-Asia Baseball5 Commission will review the situation from April – June 2021 to see if it is possible to plan more definitely to hold the Asia Cup Baseball5 qualifiers in the later part of 2021 or early 2022,” said Beng Choo Low.

The WBSC-Asia Baseball5 Commission has announced the postponement of the Asia Cup Baseball5 qualifiers. The new dates are yet to be determined. The decision came after WBSC’s announcement of the updated WBSC Baseball5 international calendar, with the maiden WBSC Baseball5 World Cup set to launch in 2022.

The Baseball5 World Cup -- a mixed gender competition -- will be played on even years starting 2022. The Baseball5 Youth World Cup, for the ages of 14-18, will be played during odd years, starting with 2023. The 2025 edition will serve as a qualifier to the 2026 Youth Olympics. The events will happen in a two-year cycle.
