Australian Baseball League lands broadcast and streaming deals for 2020-2021 season

Kayo Sports, a multi-sport streaming service, will offer 48 games plus playoffs. Fox Sports channels will broadcast selected games

Baseball Australia announced that the 2020-21 season of the Australian Baseball League, scheduled to open on 17 December, will be will be broadcast on Foxtel and streamed on Kayo Sports across Australia.

Kayo, Australia’s multi-sport streaming service, will show 48 regular-season games plus the playoffs while Foxtel’s Fox Sports channels will cover a special selection of key games.

Fox Sports channels have also showed Australia's games at the WBSC Premier12. The agreement with Foxtel Group is backed by the Federal Government.

"It is important to thank and acknowledge Federal Government Communications Minister Paul Fletcher and the support provided through his department to Baseball, said Cam Vale, Baseball Australia's CEO.

Vale added: "Kayo has been a significant supporter of the ABL, and more widely baseball in Australia, since launching. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership and put the ABL front-and-centre of Kayo’s audience yet again."

Australia in recent years has climbed up the WBSC Baseball World Rankings, currently claiming the sixth spot, sitting aside Americas powerhouses No. 5 Mexico and No. 7 Cuba.
