Softball Australia’s Summer Slam tournament postponed to 2022
05/03/2021
The Australia Pacific Cup and Men’s and Women’s Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball events will now be played at Blacktown International Sportspark in early 2022.
Softball Australia has cancelled the women’s and men’s Summer Slam - Fully Loaded Softball 2021 due to border restrictions within the country and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision came after the cancellation of the Australia Pacific Cup in early February. Originally planned to take place from 8-11 March, the national governing body had previously rescheduled the event for April.
The Australia Pacific Cup and Men’s and Women’s Summer Slam – Fully Loaded Softball events will be played at Blacktown International Sportspark in early 2022.
Softball Australia has received confirmation from FOX SPORTS Australia that they will support both tournaments for an early 2022 time slot with live broadcast for what will be the third edition of the Women’s Summer Slam and inaugural Men’s Summer Slam.
The Australia Pacific Cup and the Summer Slam - Fully Loaded Softball 2022 will help the Australia National Softball Teams to get ready for their international competitions: the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, and The World Games Birmingham 2022, with the winner recognised as world champion.
