Austria, Germany, Czech Republic collided ahead of European Baseball Championship

The WBSC-sanctioned Baseball Weekend took place from 3 to 5 September in Austria.

The National Teams of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic warmed up for the upcoming European Baseball Championship (12-19 September) with a WBSC-sanctioned 'Baseball Weekend', which played from 3 to 5 September at Ducksfield in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.

Ducksfield, the home of the Diving Ducks, is a modern facility that includes a baseball field and a softball field that fulfil international standards, workout facilities such as batting tunnels, a bullpen area, weight room, a modern clubhouse, locker rooms and meeting rooms.

Germany cruised through the weekend undefeated:

  • Austria-Germany 5-8
  • Austria-Czech Republic 5-9
  • Germany-Czech Republic 6-3
  • Germany-Austria 5-4

The games were umpired by a four-man crew: Georg Veit, Marco Einwaller (both Austria), Tomas Spilauer (Czech Republic) and Jens Misera (Germany).
