Baseball Australia: WBSC to live stream six Melbourne Aces games in January

The two-time defending champions will face the Adelaide Giants from 7 to 9 January and the Auckland Tuatara from 28 to 30 January.

The WBSC YouTube channel and Facebook page will live stream six games of the Melbourne Aces of the Australian Baseball League (ABL). The two-time ABL defending champions have scheduled two series against two other ABL franchises in January 2022.

From 7 to 9 January the Aces will play a three-game series against the Adelaide Giants.

Adelaide was the only club Melbourne did not face during the 2020/21 season, having last met in the 2020 ABL Championship Series, which the Aces swept two games to nil.

"I'm so excited to be playing again," Aces great and WBSC Premier12 alumnus Darryl George told the Aces website. "With all that Covid has thrown at us, just to get out there in front of our awesome fans is the best Christmas present anyone could give."

A three-game-series against the Auckland Tuatara will follow from 28 to 30 January.

The event is funded by the Victorian Tourism Bureau.

The ABL took the hard decision to cancel the 2021/22 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cancellation of the season doesn't affect the long-or-mid term plans of the league to be part of the development of the game Down Under, according to Baseball Australia CEO Glenn Williams.
