Baseball Australia wants to establish a Women’s League

The problem behind the project is funding, that’s why the organization partners with the Australian Sports Foundation to launch a fundraising campaign named “A League of Her Own”

Baseball Australia aims to establish a professional women’s baseball competition.
“We are looking to create a pathway for our elite women baseballers and create a domestic league with international reach.” commented Cam Vale, the organization’s Chief Executive Officer “This league would increase junior girl’s participation throughout Australia and give women an equal platform to showcase their talent.”

The problem behind the project, as Ausleisure.com reports, is that currently high-performance funding for elite teams and programmes is explicitly allocated for male outcomes only.
Baseball Australia, in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, has this launched a fundraising campaign named A League of Her Own.

Australia was eliminated after round-robin play at the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup 2018.

Earlier this year, Hall of Famer Simone Wearne stepped down as the Women’s Baseball National Team manager.

Baseball Australia is also launching another fundraising project. It’s named 24for20 and aims to secure donations to assist the Australian Men’s National Team to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
