Born in 1997, he was the only Canadian to compete in three different U-18 Baseball World Cup. He was drafted by the Miami Marlins in 2015 and traded to the San Diego Padres in 2016. He will make his debut in Toronto against the Blue Jays

Canada’s U-18 Baseball National Team alumnus Josh Naylor is set to make his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut for the San Diego Padres this weekend on home soil. The Padres will play on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays.

He helped Canada win a silver medal at the 2012 IBAF U-18 Baseball World Cup in Seoul, South Korea. He also represented Canada at the 2013 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Taichung, Chinese Taipei, and the 2015 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Osaka, Japan, and is the only Canadian to compete in three different U-18 Baseball World Cup events. He most recently represented Canada at the 2017 World Baseball Classic in Miami.

His professional career began in 2015 when he was drafted twelfth overall by the Miami Marlins, the highest a Canadian position player has ever been drafted. The Marlins dealt Naylor to the Padres in 2016.

Born in 1997, Josh Naylor is a left-handed slugging outfielder. His younger brother Noa G. Bo is also a Baseball Canada alumnus. He represented Canada at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2017 and at the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2018. Bo was picked by the Cleveland Indians in the first round of 2018 amateur draft.
