Baseball for the Blind: Italian league moves into semifinals

Patrini Malnate will face Leonessa Brescia, while Fortitudo White Sox Bologna will play the Tigers Cagliari. The winners will meet for the championship on 10 October.

The Italian League of Baseball for the Blind (LIBCI, Lega Italiana Baseball Ciechi & Ipovedenti) has closed out the regular season, with the semifinals set to begin this weekend 3-4 Oct.) in Sasso Marconi and Bologna.

The Patrini Malnate will face Leonessa Brescia at Valmarana Stadium in Sasso Marconi. The Fortitudo Bologna White Sox will play the Tigers Cagliari at Leoni Stadium in Bologna.

Should the semifinals remained tied after the regulation seven innings, an extra-inning tie-break rule will be used in which the inning will begin with runners on second and third.

The seven-inning championship final between the winners is scheduled for Saturday, 10 October, in Bologna.

The six-team league opened the 2020 season earlier this month.
