Two-time USA Softball Olympian Jennie Finch and former Major League Baseball (MLB) player Johnny Damon will compete on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, a popular TV show produced by ABC network in the U.S. Finch and Damon join a cast of eight other athletes, ranging from Olympians to professional athletes, who will strive to win a dancing contest.

Finch is a softball icon and a global ambassador of the sport, being recognized as one of the most memorable softball players in history. As a member of Team USA she won the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games Athens 2004, and Silver in Beijing 2008. Besides, Finch is a three-time WBSC Softball World Champion and a two-time Pan American Games Gold Medalist.

Johnny Damon played 18 seasons in the MLB, making two appearances in the All Star Game. He earned two World Series rings (2004 with the Boston Red Sox, and 2009 with the New York Yankees) and was the American League stolen bases leader in 2000. Damon also played the World Baseball Classic 2013 qualifiers, representing Thailand.

The format of the show consists of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer. Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains. Dancing with the Stars: Athletes will air its season premiere on Monday, April 30.
