Cuba, France earn wins in Baseball5 International Tournament in Havana

The competition was developed into three different categories: men’s, women’s and co-ed. The event was planned during the International Congress CubaMotricidad, The National Federations had the chance to attend a Clinic on the new urban version of baseball-softball

Cuba and France earned wins in an International Baseball5 tournament played in Havana, Cuba, on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 October and sanctioned by WBSC.

The tournament, for players aged 18 and older, was devoleped into three different categories: men’s, women’s and co-ed. Each National Team participating in the different categories was made by eight players. The co-ed roster required a minimum three female players.

Cuba-A, Cuba-B, France, Jamaica and Nicaragua participated in the men’s tournament. Cuba A defeated, 8-7, Cuba B in the final. France beat, 6-5, Nicaragua in the third place game.

Cuba A defeated Cuba B to win the men’s tournament. France earned third place

Cuba, Nicaragua and France participated in the women’s and co-ed tournaments.
France surprised Cuba and won the women’s final, 3-5.
Cuba stroke back in the co-ed final defeating France, 11-0.

During the days of competition, the participating National Federations had the chance to attend a Baseball5 Clinic at the International Congress CubaMotricidad 2018, hosted by the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB, Federaciòn Cubana de Béisbol) and the National Institute of Physical Educacion (INDER, Instituto Nacional de Educaciòn Fisica).
