Baseball5 is the talk of Tunisia with the Baseball5 National Championship, featuring 12 participating teams from four zones across the country, currently underway. The capital city Tunis, Bizerte, Kef and Sahel have three teams each in the tournament.
The format follows the recommendations of the Medical Commission of the Tunisia Baseball and Softball Federation (FTBS). Teams won't play outside their zone during the regular season, in order to limit travel.
The championship is currently in the fourth round. The winners of each zone will advance to the final phase of the National Championship. The four-team tournament is scheduled to begin on Sunday, 6 September.
The Tunisia Cup is the other Baseball5 major competition in the country. It has reached the semifinals stage.
