Baseball5 to showcase at ‘Foro Italico’ in Rome

The historic sports venue, projected in the late 1920s, will host a Youth Festival in the morning and games between teams from Cuba, Italy and France in the afternoon. The field has been projected and set up by WBSC and CONI, the Italian Olympic Committee

Baseball5 will showcase at the Foro Italico in Rome (Italy) on Thursday, May 10.

The Foro Italico is a historic sports venue, designed by Enrico Del Debbio at the end of the 1920s and completed after World War II. It includes the Stadio dei Marmi (track and field), the Olympic Stadium, which hosted opening and closing ceremony of the 1960 Games, and the stunning tennis court Campo Pietrangeli, that hosts matches of the Italian Open, namely one of the most prestigious red clay tennis tournaments in the world.
The 2018 edition took off on Monday, 7 May.

The Baseball5 venue at ‘Foro Italico’, Rome

The Baseball5 venue, at the heart of the Tennis Village, was projected and set up by WBSC in collaboration with the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI, Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano).

The morning (9 through 12) will feature a Youth Festival, while in the afternoon (3 through 8) teams from Italy, France and Cuba will compete in a mixed tournament.

The teams playing the afternoon tournament will be made by 6 players, a coach and a team manager
