Baseball/softball players can attend free anti-doping webinar on Feb 25 as part of WBSC cooperation with International Testing Agency

The initiative that allows baseball/softball athletes access to this service is made possible by an agreement between the WBSC and the International Testing Agency.

Baseball and softball athletes around the world are now able to register for an upcoming anti-doping seminar organised by the International Testing Agency (ITA). The webinar, named "Doping Control: Be prepared for any scenario", is scheduled for Thursday, 25 February at 2 pm CET.

The webinar is part of the initiatives made possible through the new agreement, announced on Monday, between the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and the ITA, the not-for-profit independent foundation based in Lausanne, Switzerland, that offers comprehensive anti-doping services.

The sessions of February 2021 will focus on the doping control process and thanks to the new WBSC-ITA agreement, members of the global baseball-softball community can now access and participate.

The new WBSC-ITA agreement will also provide other educational tools for athletes and their supporting personnel including:

  • Additional webinars for Olympic athletes and World Cup players
  • Face-to-face educational workshops at specific WBSC events
