Botswana scored three runs in the second, and Mogale pitched 4.1 hitless innings in relief to grab a key victory over Czech Republic, 4-2, and remain alive in the hunt for the playoffs. South Africa secured today its first win of the tournament, with a brilliant performance by Tidimia Kekana

Botswana scored three runs in the second, and Mogale pitched 4.1 hitless innings in relief to grab a key victory over Czech Republic, 4-2, and remain alive in the hunt for the playoffs.

In the bottom of the first Mikulas Klas found Vaclav Svoboda and Marek Maly on base, and the cleanup hitter plated them with an RBI single to center field.

South Africa collects first win of the tournament

South Africa secured today its first win of the tournament, with a brilliant performance by TidimiaKekana from the circle.

South Africa scored three times in its first at-bat with a 2-RBI double by Mogau Thupudi, who later scored on a wild pitch. Then in the fourth inning, after two quick outs, South Africa scored four runs on three hits and a walk to make it 7-0.

Kekana fanned 10 rivals in 5 innings, giving up only 2 hits, to claim the shutout win. The loss was charged to Jeroen Mulder.
