Canada Olympic Softball Team to face college squad in pre-Olympic warm-up game that will be live-streamed

Fans can watch the contest versus Florida International University for free via Facebook Live. Canada is hosting a training camp in Florida preparing for the country’s fifth Olympic softball appearance.

The Canadian Women’s National Softball Team continues the work towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. On Wednesday 21 July, at 6 p.m. local time, Canada will face Florida International University (FIU) at Felsberg Field in Miami. The match can be watched on FIU Softball’s Facebook page.

Softball Canada has also announced a pair of doubleheaders against Italy on 25 and 26 April. The games will be closed to the public for safety precautions. Streaming details will be available through the Softball Canada website.

Canada has been training in Fort Myers since 22 March, where they will remain until mid-May before relocating to Marion, Illinois, to continue with their preparations.

Canada has played all four previous Olympic softball competitions, but has yet to win a medal. Canada is one of four nations -- along with Australia, Japan and USA -- to have participated in all Olympic softball events.
