Canada Olympic Softball Team to play college doubleheader on Saturday, 10 April

The red and white squad will face the Florida Gators (1:30 p.m. local time) and Western Kentucky (4 p.m.) on 10 April at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.

The Canadian Olympic Softball Team will take the field tomorrow, 10 April, at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Florida, for a doubleheader against two NCAA Colleges: Florida Gators and Western Kentucky. Canada opened camp in Florida the last week of March, with a total of 18 players.

The first game this Saturday will be against the Florida Gators. The first pitch on Saturday is set for 1:30 p.m. local time and the game will have audio stream at FloridaGators.com. The second match against Western Kentucky is scheduled at 4 p.m. (no audio streaming available). Live stats of both games will be available on the Gators’ website.

This past two weekends, Canada played a pair of games against Florida SouthWestern University.

In addition, Softball Canada unveiled the 2021 schedule of the Canadian Wild, the professional softball franchise made up entirely of softball players from the Canadian Women’s National Team. Highlighted by a three-game series against Mexico’s Olympic Softball Team, the Canadians will play a 16-game schedule at Rent One Park from Friday, 28 May, through Saturday, 19 June.

The series against Mexico will go from 4-6 June. Both teams will open their Tokyo Olympic softball tournament together in Fukushima.

The announced schedule also includes four meetings with the Netherlands National Softball Team, from 15-19 June.

One of only five nations to play in all four editions of softball at the Olympic Games, world No. 3 Canada is aiming win the country’s first-ever medal in the sport of softball.
