Chen Po Yu, bullpen dominate in Chinese Taipei win against Panama

Strong pitching and an eleven-hit offense, that displayed as much power as to hit five doubles and a triple, led Chinese Taipei to an important win against Panama

Strong pitching led Chinese Taipei to a 4-1 victory against Panama. Starter Chen Po Yu allowed only three hits over six innings of work. Relievers Lin Yu Min and Yu Chien took care of the last nine outs without allowing a hit.
Manager Chou Tsung Chih had praised defence and speed while describing his team. Actually, Chinese Taipei showcased some power, combining 11 hits, including five doubles and a triple.

Both teams lost scoring chances early in the game. Panama’s left fielder, and Pittsburgh Pirates prospect, Benyamin Bailey got the third out of the bottom of the first at home. His perfect throw beat Chinese Taipei’s first baseman Ho Heng Yu.
Panama stranded runners at first and third in the second and centre fielder Jose Ramos was the third out of the bottom of the third at third base.

Chinese Taipei got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third. Left fielder Tsai Chia Yen reached on a two-out triple and Ho Geng Yu brought him home with a single.

Panama’s starter Jorge Garcia gave up another run with two outs in the bottom of the fourth. Shortstop Cheng Tsung Che doubled and then scored on a base hit bt third baseman, Lin Tzu Hao.

Chinese Taipei added a couple of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth against reliever Derek Arroyo. Right fielder Lin Cheng Hua and left fielder Tsai Chia Yen hit back to back doubles and Ho Heng Yu added an RBI-single.
